A voltage converter for a car is an electronic device. It changes the DC voltage of 12V or 24V to an AC voltage of 230V. Such electricity is necessary to power various types of electrical equipment.

Voltage converter and its role

Voltage converters are electronic devices that are used to modify electrical voltage. They can be connected to both trucks and other motor vehicles to power electrical appliances that require AC voltage when there is no access to an electrical outlet. The inverter can be connected to the car's power supply system via the cigarette lighter socket or directly to the battery.

The converter allows the use of devices powered by 220V in places where it is not possible to connect to mains electricity. In this situation, it is enough to connect the converter to 12V or 24V in the truck, even when traveling. This allows you to power electrical devices in the car when there is no access to an external power source.

A voltage converter allows you to use a variety of devices in your truck, such as:

Modified and full sine wave converter in the Truck-Shop

Commercially available converters can have different parameters, such as output power, frequency or voltage. However, among the converters, there are two basic types:

• Full sine - which offer full sine wave voltage, which makes the devices work more stably. Full sine allows for the supply of energy to devices with electric motors and transformers.
• Modified - it is used in cheaper models created for less advanced devices. Such voltage is not suitable for powering inductive or capacitive devices, which may result in damage to them.

12V Full Sine Converters

12V truck converters allow you to change the DC voltage of 12V to alternating current of 230V, which is the same as in household electrical sockets. Thanks to the converter, it is possible to power such electrical devices from batteries and car installations with a direct voltage of 12V.

Modified 24V converters and full sine wave

Operating on the principle of creating a sine wave, the converters can modify the voltage from 24 V to 230 V, which allows electrical equipment requiring 230 V to be powered from a battery or car installation.
