The use of sound signals can have a significant impact on the safety of road users, especially when they are used to warn others of an impending danger. The horn itself, which makes a characteristic, noisy, loud sound, is on the list of must-have items of equipment for every vehicle.
Additional beeps for trucks
On the other hand, the sound signal used in trucks must be loud, penetrating and easy to recognize, so that it will never go unnoticed. Thanks to the skilful use of fanfare, the safety of the driver himself, as well as other people using the roads, can significantly increase.
A truck driver can use a horn to emit beeps, which makes a louder and stronger sound than that emitted by passenger cars. As part of communication with others, the driver uses short and clear horn sounds, which are designed to draw attention and thus minimize the risk of possible dangers.
The driver can also use the distress signal, which indicates an urgent need. It is signaled in emergencies, unexpected situations, emergencies, for example, in the event of an accident, breakdown, road blockade. In this case, the use of the signal is continuous, long-lasting, and is intended to inform others of the need for special attention.
Hadley Pneumatic Signal Set
The most common are Hadley pneumatic signals, which are available in many sizes and types. They are available, for example, as a single pneumatic signal or as a double pneumatic signal. They can have additional functions, such as the ability to choose different melodies or adjust the volume.
The material used in their construction is most often stainless steel, chrome-finished steel, chrome-finished brass, lacquered zinc, there are also plastic and chrome-finished plastics.
Pneumatic signals with mounting kit
The signals are available for sale with the entire necessary mounting kit to be installed and the signals themselves, for which such a set can be purchased separately. Suggested retrofitting may include a cover, mounting kit, solenoid valve or cord valve.
Signals with a cover can be distinguished, which protects the signal from potential damage and dirt. For some signals, it is possible to buy such a cover, but it is worth checking all the necessary information in advance, including the part number of the signal.
Loud electric horns
Fanfares using 12V and 24V power supply can be distinguished. The former are designed for passenger cars, agricultural machinery, including tractors, tractors and harvesters. They can also be used in some construction equipment. Typically, such additional beeps are located in a special place at the front of the vehicle. It can be controlled by pressing a dedicated button, which is usually located on the dashboard or steering wheel.
Other vehicles, such as trucks, buses, tractor units, use 24V. The sounds emitted by them reach up to 108 dB, although there are models in which the volume reaches up to 120 dB. This makes them perfectly audible and recognizable even in high traffic.
